Probably the top multiplayer game of all time. I think it helped bring gaming to a wider audience and out of the nerd closet. Now whether or not that was a good thing or not...

I am of the opinion that it was a Bad Thing. Game developers wouldn't give us a constant stream of rehashed, brain-dead drek that is so similar to mindless summer movies if gaming hadn't gone mainstream.
