All the early Simpsons games suffered from the same problem - horrendous controls and ridiculous difficulty. Why I decided I must own all of them, who knows. This is the one where you had to spray paint things - don't ask me why - I might have got to like the third level once. Luckily my tastes have gotten better (well, I think they have anyway.)

Bart was spraypainting things red because the space mutants needed to collect purple objects for their nefarious plan (I might have the colors reversed, but that's the gist of it).
And, no, your taste hasn't gotten any better.
