The original "life" simulator - who would have thought cooking, cleaning, going to the bathroom, reading books and, of course, interacting with fellow "sims" would be such a revolution. While the original was groundbreaking, I don't think it holds up as well as the sequels. It was a fresh, interesting idea and worth it for customization alone.
