AKA Super Aleste. Vertical shooters never really clicked with me in the same way as their horizontal counterparts; there never seemed to be anything of the same calibre as the R-Type, Gradius or Thunderforce games in the genre. But with its large and well designed levels, eight distinct and fully upgradeable weapons systems, varied enemies and action-packed gameplay, this is the exception that proves the rule. The best vertical shoot 'em up I've played.
