A Classic NES Platformer

Rescue Rangers is based off an old cartoon that ran in the late 80's / early 90's. The NES game takes the characters from the cartoon, making it into a 2D platformer. The story is pretty simple, you must stop one of Fat Cat's schemes and rescue Chip and Dale's friend Gadget.
This is a great example of a classic NES platformer. The levels are side-scrolling and at times you must go up ladders and the like, much like Mega Man. Both Chip and Dale have the same abilities. You can run, jump, and pick up items to throw at enemies.
The level layout is a lot like Super Mario Bros. 3 except much smaller. There are only a handful of levels to get through, and depending which you choose, you can skip a few along the way. At the end of most levels there is a boss to defeat in which you pick a red ball and hurl it at the weak spot on the enemy.
One of the great aspects of this game is that there's 2-player coop. Not many NES platforming games have this, and it adds to the fun. The game is far more difficult to get through this way, making it a new challenge to take on. As you can imagine, it's pretty easy to jump too far or run too fast for your partner, killing them in the process.
This is a classic NES game that's still fun to play to this day, especially 2-player.
