A Good Space Shooting Experience

Vertical Force gave you a taste of what types of 3D games could have been made for the Virtual Boy. This game is much like the various forms of Gradius that have popped up on several systems. You take a ship through 5 different stages taking on a mid-level robot boss and a large boss at the end of the level.
Weapon power-ups include upgrading your original weapon, a laser beam, or a shield with your weapon. You can also add a tiny support ship if you pick one up, and if you manage to collect more than one, you can interchange them out as you please with the right D-pad. This game also supplies you with life so the instant kill doesn't anger you either.
The 3D aspect to it is nice but not that advanced. You start at the top part of the level, and if you hit a button you can "dive" down to a lower level. Enemies and obstacles appear on both levels, and you can go back and forth either in attempts to dodge enemy fire or to take out enemies.
While it's a short game which many people may argue is a bad thing, I think it fits for the system. There's no save feature, so the idea is to complete it in one sitting and you want to go through it again, you can try to get a better score and attempt not to die.
I'm a fan of the space shooters, and this one's included.
