I got a Kinect as a wedding present from some of my friends. I'm not sure what games I'll get for it other than Child of Eden, but I'm sure I'll find some fun in there somewhere.

Correction to my previous comment: Nick, Chris, Nelson, and I are not eligible for the free game. So, I am serious when I say the competition is still wide open with only a few days to go!

The competition is off and running. It is a close race and everyone is still in the running for a free game of their choice. Check to see where you are here: Member Stats (remember that Nick, Chris and I do not count).Competition info: Competition info and rules

Don't get me wrong, Zelda is my favorite video game series right now, and Ocarina of Time is my favorite game. The discussion about Mario 3 being the best game ever made is based on the intersection of accessibility and replayability. Mario 3 had that perfection of both, as well as being supremely well-made and incredibly charming, to boot.

Oh, and I got the PS3 in like November. I didn't have a blu-ray player, and it just made sense that if I was gonna shell out the bucks I may as well get one that can multitask.

I posted this on my review, too:
Sonic (especially in his early days) was more of a one-trick pony than Mario was. The big fun-factor in Sonic games was running crazy fast through levels... but when the levels were difficult enough that you had to spend time looking and thinking instead of just running they gameplay broke down.
Zelda, on the other hand, isn't just about "fun". Zelda has actual gameplay pacing between puzzles and enemies and bosses and villages and mini-games and treasure …
