Welcome back to another installment of the MeltedJoystick Review Round-Up. Here’s what our staff has reviewed since last time:
Nelson’s Reviews:
King Richard the Third was right: NOW is the Winter of our discontent (or discount tent, as the great Canadian wordsmith, Red Green, put it). While it may seem that all the numbers on my keyboard are broken except the ‘3,’ that’s not actually the case. It just so happens that my run of encounters with mediocre games has continued nearly unbroken for two entire seasons. This is becoming… aggravating. At least I got off to a good start with my Backlog Ablutions for 2021, clearing out 2/3 of them before even reaching Spring.
“Stardew Valley” – 3/5
“A Total War Saga: Troy” – 3/5
“Final Fantasy 14” – 2/5
“Indivisible” – 3/5
“Knightin’+” – 3.5/5
“Mass Effect” – 2.5/5
“Mass Effect 2” – 3.5/5
“Mass Effect 3” – 3.5/5
Chris’ Reviews:
THE Disgruntled Dwarf did not actually play very many games during the Winter season, with only “Sleeping Dogs” receiving a rating (but no review). He played some catchup with his late reviews, submitting his nearly-identical-to-mine takes on two coop games we played last year (but neither of the two coop games we’ve played most recently). Currently, he’s over 100 hours into CD Projekt’s massive bugfest, “Cyberpunk 2077,” but has, allegedly, encountered few of those bugs himself.
“Satellite Reign” – 3/5
“Strange Brigade” – 4/5
Nick’s Reviews:
“Good” ol’ Lightning continued to feed his Live Service addiction (and continued to waste perfectly good money) on “Destiny 2.” While we’re glad that he continues to participate in coop night on Mondays (now Tuesdays) and tabletop gaming night on Thursdays, he’s not off to a great start in 2021. Those Backlog Ablutions aren’t going to clear themselves!

This Spring, frequent appearer-in-this-space, Megadrive, dug deep into the past and gave us a short-but-valuable review of “Assault Rigs” for the original PlayStation, which, I admit, I’d never heard of before. Thanks for the review, and congrats!
