Welcome back to another installment of the MeltedJoystick Review Round-Up. Here’s what our staff has reviewed since last time:
Nelson’s Reviews:
If I thought my Summer of COVID was mediocre, then the Autumn of COVID was even mediocre-er. I only had two stunningly positive experiences, with one being the huge-ass Sandbox game I started on my birthday in August, and played for a whole month. That’s what I call value for the money! There were no completed coop games in Fall (we’re almost done with our current one, but it’ll take one or two more sessions/weeks), but I did manage to get through a number of single-player titles, most of which were new acquisitions instead of well-aged muck dredged up from my backlog. Unfortunately, most of them turned out to be stunningly average.
“Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey” – 4.5/5
“Hob” – 3/5
“The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds” – 4/5
“Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night” – 3/5
“Battletech” – 3/5
“Owlboy” – 3/5
“SoulCalibur 6” – 4.5/5
Chris’ Reviews:
THE Disgruntled Dwarf finally got around to reviewing many (but not all) of the coop games he neglected to review over the past… HALF A YEAR. Even better, he also reviewed one of his favorite big, sprawling Sandbox games. At least now we can all be assured he’s still alive and that our weekly interactions with him on Online Coop Night and Tabletop Night aren’t being simulated by the Vex.
“Star Trek: Bridge Crew” – 3/5
“Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order” – 3/5
“Divinity: Original Sin 2” – 4.5/5
“Watch_Dogs 2” – 4/5
Nick’s Reviews:
We all know Lightning has a Live Service addiction that’s been hitting him pretty hard. Not only has he been spending all of his time on “Destiny 2” and “Star Trek: Timelines” instead of his Backlog Ablutions (with less than a month to go now!), he even had the audacity to pay FULL PRICE for the newest “Destiny 2” expansion. *FACE. PALM.*
*sad, dead, rusty trombone*
Featured User Review:
No user reviews submitted between September 1 and November 31 really stood out. Unfortunately, that means the crown remains unclaimed this quarter. Do YOU have what it takes? Submit your reviews for the next Review Roundup before March 1 of 2021 for consideration, and if your winning review is of a Steam game (that hasn’t already been reviewed by the MeltedJoystick staff), you’ll even get a coveted mention on our Curator page.
