Welcome back to another installment of the MeltedJoystick Review Round-Up. Here’s what our staff has reviewed since last time:
Nelson’s Reviews:
This Winter, I played through new WiiU games as I received them, ensuring that the only backlog that gets bigger is the one Lord GabeN hath bestowed upon me. The MJ Crew also managed to co-op our way through “Fight the Dragon,” but since Chris has not yet successfully fought the dragon and since Nick is on strike from even clicking a star rating, let alone writing a review, I’m the only one who got it reviewed by the deadline.
“Penny Arcade’s On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3” – 4.5/5
“Penny Arcade’s On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 4” – 4.5/5
“Yoshi’s Woolly World” – 4/5
“Legend of Grimrock 2” – 4/5
“Deadfall Adventures” – 2.5/5
“The Last Tinker: City of Colors” – 3.5/5
“Until Dawn” – 2/5
“Xenoblade Chronicles X” – 3.5/5
“Fight the Dragon” – 3/5
Chris’ Reviews:
In a shameful display, Chris barely managed to crank out any reviews at all. One for a ‘game’ we slogged through cooperatively at his instigation, and one for a throw-away puzzle game with sexed-up anime women (the best kind of anime women). Why the drop in output? Well, not only did he start playing “Fallout 4,” which dragged him back into the content-bloated world of Bethesda Action/Sandbox games, but he’s been focusing waaaaay too much on his damned Android smartphone.
“HuniePop” – 3.5/5
“Until Dawn” – 3/5
Featured User Review:
I’ve had a change of heart regarding uncontested featured reviews. Previously, I stated that a review must have competition to become the quarterly Featured User Review. In light of user reviews being thin on the ground, I’ve decided to change this policy so uncontested reviews can win the slot, provided they are of reasonable quality.
Thus, this quarter MeltedJoystick is awarding Edge-Vi for his detailed review of “Killer is Dead.” The only point of criticism I can level at this review is that it is in desperate need of paragraph breaks, but is otherwise as close to what we like to see from the site’s members as possible. Well done!
