It's nearly identical, except that the character starts with a variety of weapons and none of them have energy meters. Jumping is the same and the character has a chargeable wand shot. One of the subweapons launches a broom that moves similarly to the rocket sled/Rush Jet. I didn't play very much and only got part way through the first level.

What is play control like? Is it is as good as mega man (play control)?

I fired this game up the other day because the screens looked pretty interesting when I was entering it in the DB. I was shocked to discover that it's basically a shameless Mega Man clone only with a wizard (who looks suspiciously like Mega Man). It would be pretty awesome except for the fact that it follows the arcade model of 'no continues for you.'
