Synopsis: In the far future a handful of people struggle to exist as creatures known as shades threaten to attack and mysterious disease known as the Black Scrawl claims lives. Into this life lives Nier with his daughter Yonah. In his small village he hunts and does various tasks for villagers until his daughter comes down with the disease. He goes after the only known source that offers a cure: the Bound Verses. Joining forces with the sentient tome Grimoire Weiss, along with outcast Kaine and a young boy with magical powers, Emil the three will try to save their daughter... and uncover the devastating secret behind their world.
