Synopsis: Carl "CJ" Johnson returns home after five years to attend his mother's funeral. But a corrupt police officer and his brother have other plans for him - and San Andreas is full of gang wars, cheap drugs and corruption. CJ will have to navigate this dangerous terrain in order to make his family whole again and maybe carve out a life of his own.

To me, this is the best game in the GTA series. It raised the bar for all sandbox games and had a much deeper storyline than the previous games. The characters are much more well-rounded as well - and the music is still great. If I only had one GTA game to choose to play ever again, this would be it.

"GTA: San Andreas"

The GTA universe is expanded with a much larger play environment, a really well written and celebrity voiced set of characters, an involving storyline, brilliant soundtrack, more varied set of missions and a character that is constantly evolving in the RPG style. For my money, this is easily the best game on the PS2 and despite the obvious technological improvements of the later games, this is still my favourite of the series.
