Synopsis: Welcome to the "new world', hunter - it's time to put your skills to the test. This new living, breathing ecosystem allows you to use the environment to your advantage, as the landscape and its diverse inhabitants play an important role in your hunt. But some enemies are too big to take down alone - drop-in multiplayer allows you to hail up to three hunters to take on the strongest enemies. Each battle earns you loot that will allow you to construct new, powerful weapons and armor to take down ever-more powerful monsters and become the ultimate hunter.

Although it's not my usual cup of tea, I enjoyed Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii but despite the upgraded visuals, I found this instalment uninvolving and repetitive. Explore, gather loot, kill a boss monster, rinse and repeat. And repeat. And repeat. Without a coherent narrative it just feels like an endless level grind.
