Works well enough as a collection of mini and party games - but once the initial fun of trying out some new toys wears out, there really isn't much more to it. Is it fun with a group of people? Yes! Alone? Probably nowhere near as much. And that's pretty much what you get.

Lots of Variety, Not Much Depth

Nintendo Land brings a wide variety of mini-games that shows off the WiiU Gamepad controller but lacks the depth that will keep you coming back to play again and again.
Nintendo Land launched along with the WiiU system and was even included with the Deluxe version. With that being said, it's logical when I say that this game is designed to show off the abilities of the new system, and more specifically, the Gamepad controller. Just like Wii Sports did for the Wii, Nintendo Land wants you to get use to the new controller and what different kinds of things it can do for a game.
The game puts you and your Mii into a theme park type setting and gives you a wide variety of games to play. Some of them are designed for a single player, others have to played with multiple people. With …

A Tech Demo Fueled by Nostalgia

Like the Wii before it, the WiiU includes a pack-in game that is less of a ‘game’ and more of a ‘tech-demo’ of all the novel features and gameplay ideas the new console’s proprietary controller can enable. Unlike “WiiSports,” however, “Nintendo Land” doesn’t focus on the universally-loved (except by videogame-loving nerds, like me) simplicity of games that involve throwing or hitting balls, but instead seems like an attempt to subtly introduce genuine videogame concepts to the audience of casual non-gamers who have recently discovered that they love playing timewasters on their smartphones.
