Worth The Price, Play With Friends

Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is a typical hack n slash RPG that has the benefit of being local multi-player, which is harder to find, and cheap since it is on the Play Station Network. With those two requirements met, we gave this game a try.

Story:
The story is pretty awful. You start the game by waking up in a tomb, raised from the dead, to find out you have to go save the fairies of your kingdom. I found myself not really reading the narrative between levels, not really caring about each fairy's story. You don't have to pay attention to the story to know you need to go save each of the fairies and defeat the enemies that are reeking havoc on your kingdom.

“DHA” is a rather primitive-looking game. The character models are somewhat blocky with muddy textures when viewed close-up, making them look somewhere between PS1 and Dreamcast caliber. Of course, the graphical quality doesn’t really matter, as the camera is usually situated in a classic overhead point of view. The only time the graphics really show their weakness is during the …

You like killing things? Sure, you like killing things! Who the hell don't? With Dungeon Hunter: Alliance, you'll get your fill of killing things, finding things, upgrading abilities, killing bigger things, finding better things... you get the picture.

This is essentially Diablo lite, with the ability to get your friends in on the fun. Up to four players can join in (though there are only three classes: mage, warrior and thief) and hack and slash their way to glory. I'm an unabashed Diablo fan - I never get tired of slaughtering hordes of... whatever... in order to find the next best weapon/armor so I can get even better at slaughtering the next horde of things. It's no wonder I was designated the warrior aka Tank in this particular game. Big, slow yet nigh impervious to damage. I had …
