Great 3D, Not So Much For Playing

Pilotwings Resort was a good launch game for the 3DS. Flying around an island is a great way to show off the system's 3D capabilities.
When it comes to the gameplay, it can be fun in short spurts flying around the island taking on challenges. But, by the time it got really fun taking big dives and dodging bridges and trees most of the missions had already passed.
I found the plane and the glider missions to be way more fun than the rocket pack mainly because some of the items you can to land and run into start moving back and forth and with only sky in the background most of the time you have no frame of reference and it becomes difficult (in a bad way) to anticipate where to go next.
A fun game, but probably not worth full price unless you need a game with your new 3DS. …
