The top down view still worked. When everyone was playing GTA III, I was playing GTA2 because I didn't have enough money to buy a PS 2 (nor wanted to). Rockstar still had it going on but this one was so much harder to play. It still had good play control and all the elements,. I liked it. Though it may feel really outdated now.
