AKA Operation Winback, this is a solid attempt at an espionage-style shoot 'em up but the clumsy controls and inconsistent camera angles lead to some frustratingly avoidable deaths.

This game is so good. I think it should be up for game of the year in 2011 even though it came out 11 years ago!

Hey, Alex, I just learned that there was an 'enhanced' port AND a sequel to this game released on the PS2.And here you are, stuck playing the inferior version on an abomination of a console. :(

It really depends... I usually don't buy into the excuse that a game hasn't aged well because it generally it holds games to standards that didn't exist when the game was made.  Well sure, hindsight is 20/20.Often times, people use this to describe graphics, which is (I think) the unfairest of all.There are scant few games, however, that I would apply this to, and it's usually based off of gameplay decisions that I think could have been made at the time.  I haven't play WinBack in a …

I'm not particularly fond of the whole idea that things "don't age well" either. I thought the N64 was crap in 1997. I still think it's crap. I thought that many popular NES games had problems in the '80s that hindered my enjoyment of them. I still think those games have the same problems.People who worry about things "aging well" are generally short-sighted.

I remember renting that game when it came out, I enjoyed it quite a bit, but I have a feeling the mechanics did not (to use a cliche) "age well".
