Dreading E.M.M.I. Robots

Finally, another 2D adventure! It's been a long time since the last 2D Metroid, and I looked forward to this game a lot. The previous 2D Metroid games were Metroid (NES), Metroid 2 Return of Samus (Game Boy), Super Metroid (Super Nintendo), and Metroid Fusion (Game Boy Advance).
In this latest saga of Metroid, Samus goes to investigate what is happening on a planet known as ZDR. You'll deal with E.M.M.I. robots, Chozo soldiers, other bosses, and finally Raven Beak. This game is packed with higher-than-normal difficulty gameplay resulting in many deaths and continued attempts to progress the game. I wouldn't call it “Nintendo Hard”, but it was harder than I expected.

A Welcome Return to Metroid's Roots

A 2D Metroid platformer has finally returned to a console and it doesn't disappoint. Anyone who is a big fan of Super Metroid on the SNES should find time to give this a play.
Metroid Dread goes back to the roots of the series while also blending the updates to the weapons and game play implemented over the years to create a fun, engaging, and fairly challenging at times experience on the Switch. The last time a 2D platforming Metroid came to a console was Super Metroid in 1994. 3 handheld games have been released since then but being able to play it on a TV has definitely been lacking, and I am definitely glad it's back.
