Even faster and more colorful than the original and sporting a split screen mode and the first in a series of annoying side kicks in Miles Prower. Not quite as good as the first thanks to the removal of the bonus rounds which makes it feel a bit samey but a quality all-round platformer.

An improved version of the original Sonic the Hedgehog, this game introduced the spin-dash ability and a greatly-increased game length. Robotnic seemed to gain some creativity over the first game, because his evil creations were a lot more fun to pummel in this one.
