My favorite shooter for the SNES. For me, this shooter hit the rare balance of difficulty, playability, and challenge. There's very little slowdown (only when a tremendous number of moving objects appear on the screen). The weapons are fun and customizable. The levels long enough to be challenging, but not so long as to induce frustration. The bosses are fantastic and unique. And finally, the music is my favorite of any Gradius game.
